We are The Sweet Ordeal, a three piece indie folk band that play melodic and bittersweet songs about love, loss, longing and redemption. Our themes draw upon the personal and the public: the latter from esoteric real life stories.
Formed by John Hamilton and Nick McMaster and joined by Hannah McMaster (nee Beaumont) in 2015, we play original material on acoustic guitar, ukulele, glockenspiel, cello, bass, keyboard and electronica, alongside different combinations of voice and harmonies.
With a number of performances at legendary Brighton folk venue The Brunswick, we are delighted to have also supported the magical Michele Stodart (The Magic Numbers) and the critically acclaimed The Self Help Group (Union Music).
